Season of Migration to the North

Season of Migration to the North is a novel by Mustafa Sa'eed, set in the 1960s Sudan. The narrator returns to his village, seeking to contribute to his postcolonial life. He meets Mustafa, who shares his life in London and his relationship with European women. However, Mustafa disappears without explanation, leaving the narrator in a violent no-man's land between Europe and Africa. The novel was selected as the most important Arab novel of the twentieth century.
